Will Poulter Quits Twitter Following Negative Bandersnatch Reaction
Will Poulter is a great actor who has dazzled both the small and silver screen in an array of shows and movies, from his first break in the short-lived Channel 4 series School of Comedy to his breakout Hollywood role in We're The Millers.
Unfortunatley, Poulter's latest headline-grabbing role in the Black Mirror standalone movie Bandersnatch, hasn't had the response he intended, so much so that he's quit Twitter because of the negative backlash.
Showing a nastier side of the social network and indeed humanity, something the show itself has explored, Poulter delivered a lengthy explanation as to why he is stepping away from Twitter.
And while it was not stated as to the specific reason, many social media users believe it was because of his appearance.
In a beautifully worded response to the haters, Poulter wrote, "I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to everybody who has watched Bandersnatch and for their responses (whatever they may be) to the material we created.
"I accept all criticisms and it’s been a delight to learn that so many of you enjoyed what many people worked very hard to produce!
"As we all know, there is a balance to be struck in our engagements with social media. There are positives to enjoy and inevitable negatives that are best avoided. It’s a balance that I have struggled with for a while now and in the interest of my mental health I feel the time has come to change my relationship with social media.”
Poulter has also appeared in the films The Maze Runner and Detroit. As well as his impressive CV, Poulter has used his platform on social media to express his disdain at many political and social issues impacting his generation.
Yes, at 25, this British actor is doing amazing things. It's just a pity others are more concerned with someone's appearance to notice.
On behalf of everyone here at The Travel Lane, we salute you, you handsome man.
